How far We've come

From the celestial dawn onward
Hate of difference, hate of others.
Ignorance gives way to ignorance
Love gives way to love

What then?
A mutation, a kink in the chain,
Catalyzes hope, the fiery spirit of man.
A millennia of hate gives way to a future of unity.

A new dawn approaches
The Great Melting Pot fires up freely,
A man's dream becomes a nation's reality.
Hope births a new unity,
Hate gives way to Love.

Many moons pass
As we look upon our grizzly past
Of fallen soldiers in a nameless war.
In the name of equality they fought!
Oh so valiantly they battled against oppression

Today We remember.
Today we gaze into the tyranny of the past.
All to see how far We've come
