How to summarize 2016?

Fri, 12/02/2016 - 17:33 -- TijuanD

2016 begins

Grades, Grades, Grades

I’m on the cusp of college

I need to maintain my grades

Junior year is too important to mess up

There is no time for distractions

But grandma was ill

What would happen?

Will she get better?

With every passing week, she seems to get worse

“I’ll be better by your birthday, I promise”

I look in her eyes and I try to stay strong

Grandma shows tremendous improvement weeks before my birthday

What a wonderful gift, its April

I turn 17, now I am on the cusp of adulthood as well as college

My birthday comes and goes

This is the first birthday where I feel no different

Then the school year ends, by this time next year hopefully

I will be accepted to a college

Work, work, work, work, work

The money will be needed, every penny

College tour, after tour, after tour, after tour

I have to get an early jump on this college stuff

All of it seems overwhelming and frightening

Summer comes and goes

College is in view

Senior year has a different feel to it

It’s like I’ve reached the finals of the minor leagues

My shot at the major leagues is still in the air

Now we are in the last month of 2016

I cannot quite think of words

To describe the year

It is one of the few times I’ve been left speechless

The year cannot be clearly defined as good or bad

A chapter I wish I could leave out of the book

The book of my life

The chapter does not flow well
