I Am Black and White

Sat, 07/13/2013 - 19:28 -- bbell

I am black and white.

I wonder about the past.

I hear the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I see discrimination.

I want peace and prosperity.

I am black and white.

I pretend racism doesn’t exist.

I feel pride about who I am.

I touch both worlds.

I worry that we are not ready for change.

I cry for those who have sacrificed.

I am black and white.

I understand hope.

I say I can make a difference.

I dream of a world free of prejudice.

I try to treat all fairly.

I hope I am the future.

I am black and white.
