I am a Latina

I'm here because my parents crossed walls they weren't suppose to

They tell me their stories of struggle

So those are things that i'll never have to go through

I am a Latina

“I hope trump sends your ass back” is what i can hear from the crowd

But come on didn't you forget my uncle is the reason your grass is cut down.

My parents work constantly in the sun till they can drop dead

But that’s not a problem.

Because they make sure that I am fed.

I am a Latina

So my family must be drug dealers, attackers whatever it is you can name

But  it's those people  that  give our race a bad name

But this is MY culture and these are MY people.

And i say it with no shame.

Im a Latina

And yes America is where I want to stay

“Go back?”  back where?

America is our home.

But people like donald trump want to kick us all away

I'm a Latina

And I'm an attacker

An attacker of ignorance

I'm a student And

Yo soy Latina.
