I have Potential

How can I get a scholarship? I really need to.

Do I have to have straights A’s – because I do.

Do I have to have a financial need – because I do.

Do I have to volunteer for everything – because I do.

For the church, the hospital, the community - I love to.

The guitar, the violin, the piano I no longer play

Grocery and Phone bills, I have to pay

 18 hours of work per week is not enough, I must say

 8 am to 9 pm in campus of almost every day.

Life is not easy for a part-time worker, full time dorm student like me

I’m struggle financially, you see

For the Nursing Program I go, intentionally

But my parents had to leave their jobs, unexpectedly

Even before, however

Tuition was too high for our measure

Stopping my education, I would never

So scholarships, you are my endeavor.
