I Hope You're Proud

Pa,

Yesterday marked 23 years since God took you with him.
And as I reflect back on this past year and a half, the light at the end of my tunnel is no longer dim.

From inner struggles to believing in myself, how I wish you were here to help guide and advise me.

Now even though I could not flee and you weren't here, I just hope all this you could see and I hope you are proud of me.

Despite barriers, I've struggled and strived to reach my goals and just when I thought all hoped was lost, I survived.
I know I will be successful and thrive.

God has truly shown me he has a plan for me and has never left my side.
One chapter in my life has ended.
I am excited to continue volunteering and preparing for graduate school.
Although I am scared, I am ready and excited for the ride. Please keep watching over me and I hope you are proud.

Love always and forever,

            Your first born
