I Live to Worship You

To worship you, God

I live to worship you

In spirit and in truth

I live to lift you high

In love and adoration

I live to love you fully

Convinced of your love for me

Eternally encompassed

In grace that surpasses

Beyond my comprehension

The truth of your word speaks

Volumes to my soul

Are added in love.

Strengthen my hands and feet, oh Lord.

Strengthen my fingers and ankles.

I shall not stay put, but praise you.

In care you carried me so long

I had no idea I was broken.

Stomped on until I was lame like a puppet

Destroyed by a jealous child.

But cradled in your arms I already

Feel your healing power

Willing to be your vessel

To tell your stories.

All the while anticipating

Turning into a real

Sun of the Most High God.

A star so brightly shining in the darkness expanding—

Broken into a pulsar that

Vocalizes your praises with a

Fervency and unashamedness.

The darkness around is not stifling

Nor filled with angry eyes toward my brightness

If they are, it’s none of my business.

For all I need to know is

A pulsar that stands in darkness

Is alone with you in the darkness of her room.

You are the only God who lives.

Righteously claiming me, saying that

I am yours.

To worship you, God

I live to worship you

In spirit and in truth

I live to lift you high

In love and adoration

I live to love you fully

Convinced of your love for me

Eternally encompassed.
