I will break away.
I will break away from the walls that hold me.
I will break away.
I will break away from the lies they've told me.

In the past, but not forgotten,
are the struggles I remember.
In the past, but not forgotten,
are the let downs of each December.

I always knew my father lied,
he said he would come and see me,
and I had high hope.
Let down, after let down,
while my back's against the rope.

But no not me,
I will not fall victim,
This world isn't cold enough to stop me,
So keep yelling "Go ahead, sick em'".

I will get up, and stay that way.
I will go to college, I will pave the way.

This is my life, and I will take control.
My problem, my solution,
and everyone may know.

I did not give in, to the life I was presented,
so now every December,
I no longer hold resentment.

Though, remember what I say,
I will be someone,
I promise, one day.
