Innocence Lost

Location

We would all like to think that we still have some,

there is no keeping it

for anyone.

You may lose it when you first here that dirty word,

see those pictures that make your mind hurt,

for the child who's parents were taken away,

it may have been when you realized that people aren't nice.

To the child who was physically hurt,

you were robbed of the things that should have been yours.

To the girl who was molested as a teen,

you can never go back to the way things were.

If you still wish you were, people may call you sheltered.

You may just think you wish the world wasn't so awful.

So horrible that children are exploited,

forced to do things that they don't want.

As soon as you feel uncomfortable because of your innocence remember,

it is always them who makes you feel bad for not being exposed.

Always choose to have something that is unknown to you.

Because once it is lost, it is gone forever.

Embrace what is left, because it will soon be

Innocence Lost
