The Journey

I remember that night, those minutes,

Walking steadily on the path

As the clouds began to weep

And tears from the skies of color came down,

Pit pattering against the ground

Comforting and quiet

But I never knew rain could be so violent

Forcing everything in me down,

Full of broken thoughts,

With the walls of my heart

Holding photos of beautiful memories

I stride towards the glowing light,

Rain glistening like falling stars,

No longer fearful of the night,

I had collapsed and crumbled

To be reborn like a rioting star;

Haunting the dark sky

The worst part is behind me

I am whole, I am free

To begin a new journey of mine
