(poems go here) Remember when our world was new?
When Columbus sailed the ocean blue in 1492.
We've come so far, that much is true.
With civil rights, and women too.
From the signing of the Declaration
To the Emancipation Proclamation.
We live in freedom thanks to those in Heaven
The brave men and women from 9/11.
Of all events, what was most alarming
was the ill-fated Pearl Harbor bombing.
It churned the blood of the USA,
set off the events that led to D-Day.
Roosevelt finally had enough,
so we set off to France, to erupt.
With Germany defeated after one year,
Japan was left cowering in fear.
We gave them a chance, but they wouldn't give in.
We were left with no choice, but to send bombs to win
First was Hiroshima, then Nagasaki too.
We showed our true power, and that's when they knew.
Japan finally surrendered, with nothing else to lose.
We won for Pearl Harbor, the event that blew our fuse.
