La Lucha

Working for the workers
Laboring for the laborers
Fighting tirelessly
One man, one man alone
But then, never truly alone
The voice of many
A living megaphone, turn up the volume
Sleepy corporate managers complaining about the noise
Will you keep it down?
No, no, we won't keep it down
I won't keep it down
I'll keep the fight up, keep the fight up
For my people
A strike out in the fields
The voices of many converge
All like-minded, all shouting that one golden word
Huelga
Huelga
People across the country taking notice
Marking the words down
Take the grapes off the dinner plate
No grapes to be found here
Gradually people come together
Hivemind, all supporting the cause
Make the growers understand the injustice
Have them taste these grapes of wrath
Which they themselves have sown
It's coming back around, and this time
You're not going to like the taste of this wine
Made from the grapes of oppression
And as you drink it, all you hear is this one man
This ordinary farm worker, so simple and yet
So crucial, leading the punchless fight like a Latino Gandhi
Fighting tirelessly, one man
One man alone
But then, never truly alone
A piece of the puzzle, adding his voice to the collection of so many others
All shouting in unison
Sí se puede
Sí se puede
Sí se puede
