The Labyrinth of Liberty

The thunder cracked shaking the earth,
And deepening the oppressive feeling which surounds my soul.
Here I labor trapped within the prison of my mind
A labyrinth, sinuous and dark, folding in on itself again and again.
Each attempt to escape a failure leaving me deeper within.
The deeper I go the louder the thunder
As it rumbles I hear it telling me one thing...
Remember.
Remember yesterday's failures and disappointments.
Remember being mocked for your beliefs and ambitions.
No I will not remember
I will focus and I will succeed
The thunder quits against the sound of defiance,
I see the labyrinth's end.
It's time to fight for honor and justice with courage and commitment.
I am ready.
