Lachrymose

Heart of stone

The girl had

Not a tear shed from her eyes

Infuriation and hatred was left

Nothing but lies escaped her chapped lips

Once upon a time

She was good

Eyes bright and filled with wonder

Happiness ine very corner

Yet her life wasn't for her

So alas, it was not to last

Wrinkles and wisdom took their course

Day by day she grew morose

Dark circles under her eyes were pronounced

And one by one everyone denounced her

Till nothing existed but her sorrow

And ineffable rage

In her anguish she remained

Strong of heart despite her pain

She saw the world through another's eyes

And her life polarized

Her mind grew twisted in many ways

Then she strayed down a dark path

Her maudlin mind remembered

She was once innocent

Not a care in the world

Heart pure and full in love

Her smile playful and waggish

Sun-kissed skin and stained red lips

Mind sharp like a knife

Yet ignorant of change within her

Till she grew as tree would

Her bright demeanor dissipated

Darkness arose within her, unanticipated

No who she once was

Not yet who she wished to be

Her heart hardended

Everything changed

She became deranged

Her eyes stormy and cold

Her story untold

She never felt so alone

Sadly she existed no more

For wounds left her swimming in her gore

A part of her life unfulfilled

Then every part of her body was still
