Late Homework, Late Homework!

Location

LATE HOMEWORK, LATE HOMEWORK!

Homework, homework that is the key,

the key to help secure a high school degree.

Yes home work is important as you know,

but homework does not define what we know.

Why penalize us 50% or more for a day late,

that pretty much seals our scholastic fate.

That does not prove what we know on the subject,

that only shows that we lack organization, responsibility or something.

Sure, there should be consequences for not turning homework in on time,

but that should not be taken from the actual assignment bottom line.

It should not be taken from our actual homework,

perhaps reduce citizenship or participation, this is berserk.

This decrease, would show we did not know the subject,

in many cases this is not a valid reflect.

Due to turning in a homework assignment late,

our final grade is severely under-weight.

I am not saying students should not be penalized for turning in homework late,

I am saying the grade assignment should not be decreased by this percentage rate.

That is a failing grade already,

I think this penalization is way too heavy.

Give the grade that is rightly deserved for the actual assignment,

and place the penalty for turning it in late under another alignment.

I did want to bring it to your attention,

so that maybe schools may have a better retention.

Of course, I don’t have all the answers in this short note,

perhaps it should be brought up as a vote.

This way a student’s confidence and GPA are not destroyed,

perhaps, there were valid reasons for the ploy.

Let's say the student would have received a perfect score,

but because they turned it in one day late, their grade is now a sore.

The test scores are perfect A's,

but late homework, causes the overall grade to fail.

Although, this really does not affect me,

I hear others plea.

I am speaking on behalf of the students who are afraid to speak,

because they are to meek.

Please change this policy,

because it is the ultimate atrocity.
