Life

What can one say to sum up a year,

With every moment being important,

From planning the choice leading to the path of my career,

To small choices of great assortment,

Weeks of training for activities of the athletic persuasion,

And academic study when I could on every occasion

The shaping of a year depends on factors many,

With friends, family, and a Divine plan exerting influence,

The outcome of the year having ups and downs plenty,

But one constant is music mellifluous,

Something used when stressors of the year become overbearing

When the people around you seem for a time uncaring,

It is both solitude and sociality that influenced me,

Academics and sports playing a large role,

Music allowing me to float along like a leaf carried by a wave at sea,

While speech and acceptance keeping away solitary's toll,

It is things like seeing a tiny kitten stumbling after a mouse,

And studying works like Goethe's Faust,

These are a few examples of small occurrences that shape a person,

As it is up to the person to shape their year and to help shape others' as well,

Experience allows to make good choices of which they are certain,

and avoid other ones that could equate Earth to that of Hell,

It is these choices that shape a year and a person to allow the avoidance of strife,

For within a year there are emotions rife, and happenings any,

Much change and new situations with the approach of age nearing twenty,

What has shaped this year for me rather simply put is life.
