A book of an aunt
Who no longer is here
Turn the pages
Listen
Do you hear them cry?
Torn and worn down but still prized most
This book that is broken
It tells a tale of sleeping beauty and her prince
And how they live happily ever after
But the true story of this book is not happy
It did bring joy once to a little girl
It also brought joy to her future son
But now one look brings memories to painful
It sits of its shelf longing to be read again
I pick it up
Covered in dust and aged by years
As soon as I open it I remember
Not painful memories
But memories of happiness
Old memories swift away
Leaving empty space for new memories
See the book
Turn the pages
Listen
They no longer cry
