Living in my Mask (Slam Behind the Curtain- Ke'Shawna Brown)

Am I blind still can  you see me for who i am,

Always in the shadows of others,

The sad and pitiful truth which is my own,

How much time has past to where i have yet to notice this,

My life until now has been numb to this invisibleness

This mask unable to be removed

All my insecurities, my very being

Stripped of its humanity

Is the life I shall always bare,

Alone and unable to care

This doesn’t seem hardly fair

Well I guess this is my curtain to bare

Upstaged by all who have their own flare

Living is only an illusion to me

You have to be a fool to not see

That in my mask is the only place I can be free
