LONE STAR

Sat, 10/14/2017 - 14:38 -- Naura

As the fog lifts, the clouds drift to reveal a milky moon

Illuminating the night sky, kissing a broken town good night

I raise my eyes to the heavens, wrapped in my warm cocoon

And that's when I saw a lone star, shining so constant and bright

It stood by itself, in the midst of an endless galaxy

Its light dazzling, making the other stars seem like they were burning

Calling out my name, smiling down with unfaltering beauty

Mystical and unique, unlike this world full of wolves in sheep clothing

Oh lone star, lone star, I was awoken by a dream

I saw a soul flawed yet so perfect, carved out for me

There was a truth in his smile, and mystery in his eyes

Is this just wishful thinking? Or can I find such a worthful dime?

Oh dream maker, dream maker, you were just like the lone star

So different from the rest, you enamoured my heart

We haven't met, but just as stars wheel forth at night

You'll come out of your hiding place, right into my life
