tHIS love

Twinkle of the midnight stars

Candlelight, the smallest flame

Brightened up the sunless days,

Vibrant with Him near me.

Plain things turned to simple beauty,

Bland routine, a familiar flow of life.

Dull, frequent places made a home.

Ordinary made original.

A flirting grin, a daring stare, a giggle uncontrolled,

Laughter seen in expressions abundant

Sonorous and unrestrained, resonant and unquiet,

Joy felt through a tug and tease

The freshest breath of air,

Fuel to a lively fire

A compass through the world

Someone to admire

Racing mind is set at ease

Calming boisterous storms within

Safe and stable in his arms

Still with whisper and touch on skin

Dark corners of the soul explored

Away the haunting thoughts were chased

Sleepless nights are pacified

By sweet love that he has placed

Insecurities, doubts, and loneliness

Like lurking shadows of the past

Faced with love and tender heart

Disappear the shadows, fast

Restored, made whole, renewed, set free

All of the above,

Mirrors no longer an enemy

But a place to find she who he loves

He loves the woman full of strength

With grace and patience true

Loving with all her depth and length

With attitude kind and new

Determined, witty, wonderful

The things he loves so well

Her happy, healthy, hearty soul,

A place he made to dwell

A change that only love permits,

Desire to be his treasured wealth

But what his love has taught me best

Was how to view and love myself.
