Love is Not Kind

A relationship can't be won

But it can be lost

The difference between a good and bad one

Is at what cost

"Because I love you my dear."

It's simple and sincere

But the question behind

Is "What do you fear?"

Love is not boastful

But love is not kind

Love is simply forgiveness

That comes through time

Love is not the butterflies

Or that obsession in your mind

Love is what you put up with

And how you put is aside

To know love as it is

You cannot be great

You must accept the imperfect

And move past the mistakes

So those words again

"Because I love you"

It's an apology to say

That "I forgive you"

It's not you to forgive

But its me instead

"Please forgive me."

Because it goes to my head

There's no excuses for me

You have the right to be mad

But I don't blame you

Because I love you.
