Love's True Meaning

Relationships bloom, flourish, and thrive,

When mitigating strife is the ultimate drive.

Flexibility is vital in maintaining bliss,

And bonds grow strong when fights end in a kiss.

My parents display these traits and more,

Making me a joyful child whose high spirits soar.

Their actions provide an example for me,

Of how relationships ought to be.

Love is such a simple word,

Yet its true meaning is often unheard.

It’s not a fluttery feeling inside,

Or a burning passion that quickly subsides.

Love is a sacrifice,

A selfless act demanding no price.

While beauty and riches eventually die,

Love doesn’t dwindle as time ticks by.

True love as I have explained,

Inspires relationships to remain sustained.

These characteristics are essential parts,

That must be in the man who wins my heart.
