Lungri

Labeled Lungri, "lame one" by his own mother.

Mocked to the point of indignation. He did not impose the fear one of his kind should.

The humans were meant to be his salvation. Mangled evidence of his right to be king of the jungle.

Yet they became another failure to Shere Khan.

The boy was his last, pathetic hope to prove himself to the jungle.

His was a life of desperation: to be accepted, to be feared, to for once not be a failure.

The boy they call a hero sealed his fate to forever be the Lungri.
