Me, then Him and Me

I stood there as you broke my nose.

All you wanted me to do was pose.

My blood drips.

Covers my hands and slips.

Submission under recognition.

I see the window.

Should I escape, be a widow?

A block of stone centered in my crest.

I will forever keep my heart in a chest.

“Excuse me Miss.”

I turn around what is this.

He smiles, “I think you dropped this.”

A ring.

He reaches, I flinch.

“My apologies.”

HIs warmth envelopes my hands inch by inch.

It creeps and reaches beneath my skin.

A crack, a leak?

We talk, I laugh, he giggles.

A stolen kiss.

My chest I hear it creak.

My heart looks out takes a peek.

I’m submerged under ocean waves.

I reach up and find a tidal wave.

His heart in hand replaces my own.

He nurtures my wounds and takes me home.

Gazing deep in the pools of my eyes.

He finds my heart.

Then he speaks.

“You are my heart and my soul.

My light in the darkest of nights.

Take my hand i’ll never let go.

Because I love you.

I promise to never to hurt nor harm.

For you are my better half.

I promise you’re the only one.

To be reborn and fall in love with you.

Again and again.

To live and die next to you.

Is forever my only wish.”

My tears drip.

Cover my face and slip.

I’m a mess.

As I stand here in my white wedding dress.
