Message from the Future

Little girl with such a deprived look on your face

No need to eat at such a halted pace.

Fear not the judgement in their eyes

Satiate without remorse, your appearance to me is perfect, I speak no lies.

Little girl with such an insulted face

Listen not of their jabs to your race.

Your almond eyes that they claim is proportional to your intelligence

Sees the truth, the results of your hard work and perseverance.

Little girl with such a solemn face

The memory of his death you cannot erase.

Rather than shielding yourself from the truth

Honor his life and smile as proof.

Little girl, dry those tears from your face

For you have flourished, these struggles you've braced.

So take my hand and allow me

To show you our future, where we are happy and free.

Little girl of my past, this is your cue

To start your life anew.

Appreciate who you are, place those frustrations on the shelf

Because I love you, from your future self.
