The Mighty Oak Tree

For 300 years that tree stood

For 300 years it stood tall

But one night under darkess's hood

That Mighty Oak Did not see another fall

That tree has past throught time

Seeing animals play on its limbs

To the first of their new born

to the last of their lives

The fall would come and go

And the winter would begin

And summer was again

His friends would be home

People would visit and then go

Their love carved on him would show

He'd give up his time to makes things better

And fix a friendship so they could grow

But all it took was one dark night

There was thunder in the distance

Lightning was in in sight

The Great Tree still stood

The wind was howling

The Great Tree still stood

Holding dear his friends

The Great Tree still stood

The wind began to race

The Mighty Tree began to break

He shouted out "fly my friends!, make haste!

So you wil live to see days break"

The storm is over and the friends meet

To find him lying at their feet

They morn his death

But they know it was not his defeat

Years to come the tree will decay

His friends will move on to see another day

To where this Mighty Tree first life was start

Stands the birth of a new heart
