Moon of My Life

The sun has beauty.

No lust I possess for her.

For I love the moon

Daylight entices.

The fool that admires her face

Is blinded and burned.

O sweet moon, so cool,

Soothing, guiding, dynamic.

The sun is static.

Sunrise and sunset

Repeating day after day.

I dread the dullness.

The lunar lady

Hides and shines in the night sky.

Oceans dance for her.

The earth befriends both,

But the sun keeps her distance.

The moon stays closer.

I bear no ill will

Against the celestial star.

Her gifts are plenty.

But stars are selfish

All must revolve around them.

Egocentric flames.

The moon is balanced:

Pushing and pulling the world

But remains humble.

Fiery wrath destroys

Those who seek to touch the sun.

Therefore, no one tries.

It is possible,

For those who are courageous

To embrace the moon.

Such task is daunting.

Difficult is the journey,

But then, so is love.
