Motherland Africa to Sister America

The struggle was never mine,
but I bathe in its sweet rewards
The fear was never mine
Yet freely I find myself
Although I do not experience the stories of our color
I am thankful
From motherland Africa to my sister America
It was beautiful
You were beautiful
The beauty that scares
excites
haunts
moves
loves
You have done right
And all will be alright
Although my present is distant from your past
Your past made my future
It is with honor and gratitude
to continue your mission
and to see a world - without any division
