Mr. Suit and Tie

Dear mindless zombies also known as society,

We have fallen for the same tricks over and over. Whether it was following blindly because of the sly and persuasive speeches given in 1933 Germany or fallin for false promises made in 2016. We don't learn fro our history, we only choose to ignore it. We see someone with authority and power, and decide to throw our logical reasoning out the window. He chose to stare at people, turn on our ears, but turn off our minds, and turn off our hearts. As we are brain dead, we just stare and stare.

Look at Him

Mr. Suit and Tie

Has everything he could ask for

But did he even try?

He says he knows what he's doing

He says he's never wrong.

I know it might be silly,

But could he be more wrong?

Look at Mr. Soldier

Playing dress up for his role

Look into his eyes and see what they behold

You think you'd see anger and maybe a black hole?

But did you think you'd see

Fear and the lack of control?

There he goes again

Mr. Suit and Tie

Telling Mr. Soldier not to cry

He says shoot

So he must shoot

He says no mercy

So he must show no mercy

He says go on and finish

He thinks "But must I go on?

Should I even finish?"

But of course he must

So he does what he is told

and finishes the task

We all want to be heroes

Now that's a fact

No matter how hard we try to counteract

I look out, and what do I see?

Do I see a

Ms. Parks or Mr. King?

Sorry but no.

Cause as long as you see a suit and tie,

All I will see is another Nazi guy.

Would you fall for a suit and tie?

Cause this soldier did,

And this follower did,

and he did, and he did.

So I ask again,

Could you...no

Would you fall for

Mr. Suit and Tie?

                                                                                  Sincerly,

                                                                                   Faith Orta
