My child’s name is not Disability

He is perfect in my eyes

Able to do anything

Limits beyond the skies

As time goes on

More challenges come too

New ways to be bullied

Real friends not so true

Classes grow larger

Rules more strict

Schools not complying

Creating more conflict

The ADA is there for me

They are on my side

If I ever needed anything

They readily supply

College will come soon

ADA will go along

Setting up for the future

Protecting other laws

Laws that waive tuition

Install safety measures

Paint the curbs and add some light

Laws that we treasure

Without the ADA

We’d never get him school

My son would never learn

It would be unfair and cruel

Before it was much different

Though I don’t know much of then

Life was unequal

For disabled Americans

My child’s name is not Disability

He has his place in the world

Everyone has challenges

His is seen and heard
