My Dear Daughter

My dear baby,

I sing to you.

You fall asleep,

As I cradle you.

Because I love you,

I hold you near.

As you cry,

I wipe away your tears.

My dear child,

You're growing up way too fast.

Im sorry to leave you,

But our time together has passed.

Because I loved you,

I watched you grow.

But I have other things,

And now I must go.

My dear daughter,

I'm sorry I left.

These past few years,

I've been guilty of theft.

Because I love you,

I hope you can forgive.

Hopefully these lost years,

Together we can relive.
