Today is a day of remembrance
Of sweet family and fond friendships.

     Today we look back
     At the year that has passed,
     And take in its history:
     Its true story and mystery.

     Our eyes look and view
     Of how much, in abundance or in few,
     We openly showed love and care,
     And secretly in deepest prayer.

So teach me Lord to hold those dear
Even closer with the coming years.
To treasure them more and more each day.
And to love and pray for the alway.
