They said we were free
From the chains and the whips,
Yet this is another
Kind of imprisonment.
No freedom at all,
To choose and to vote.
My voice is not heard
But rather ignored.
My fathers have fought
To win me this right,
So why am I still ignored
After our long drawn out fight?

Honestly, it can't be you because YOU DO Have the right to vote choose (if your 18 or have to capabilty to do so when you are of age)

Tell me more of your personas experience, the looks, the shouts, the way he/she is touched. or maybe do a time travel or person's rights from the past, all the wya 2013.

just a suggestions.

They said we were free
From the chains and the whips, ---I like this, you tell me the voice the PO & explain me the torture quickly, it has a little rhythm. :)
Yet this is another
Kind of imprisonment. (a big word so out of rhythm at least to me reading it however it seems a little fitting
--I hear this a little, so great!

My voice is not heard
But rather ignored (you break the rhythm here again but it you fix after, why?
