No Name Dreamers

December 18, 2017

Dear Juliet,

I know it's been a while,

Since we last met each other.

As we walked through the parks

Right after one another

For we had met 10 years before,

And now what's left is a shattered door.

We do not chat

We do not call

We don't even seem like friends at all.

Before, we ran on the hot Las Vegas pavement

Sketching pictures of each other in white chalk

Wishing for savement

From the others who glared and talked

At the other end of the street.

Making up our own games

Writing our own stories

Looking through the flames

At others who held glory.

But now we don’t listen

We don't bother to try

We sit all alone

As time passes us by.

You are older than me

Only by a few

But you were always my sister

In my heart through and through.

We fought all the time

But knew each other's mind

And seemed to fix all the issues

That existed in our prime.

Our differences seemed unimportant

While our imaginations seemed to soar.

We held each other on the ground

So we wouldn't float away anymore.

And all the days we have left our hearts

Abandoned them in rocks.

From desert hikes

To beach docks

Your memories live in those parts.

And you’ve found other friends

Met other people

Created a life that seems so regal.

But behind the facade that technology raises

Is a mind that is confused

And a heart that blazes.

I miss your laugh

Your funny faces

Your lessons in life

And all of your graces.

I miss the language we created

And talked in all the time

I miss your sisters and your mother

And the songs that we created

That never seemed to rhyme.

Two No Name Dreamers

Drifting on through the river of life

Separated by the evil current

That takes those traveling with a painful knife.

I know it's been a while

Since we last met each other,

Maybe we could get together

And see one another.

Love,

Lauren
