Not Just Another Day

Feelings of sadness.

Nobody cares.

Others enjoy Christmas.

She stands by and stares.

Tears fill her eyes.

Every year, she cries.

Places where gifts should lay.

Empty spaces,

Just another day.

Mom knocks on her door,

A smile graces her face.

She walks in and it's a beautiful place.

And other gifts that make her heart race.

Feelings of happiness.

Somebody cares.

She enjoys Christmas.

She no longer stares.

Light fills her eyes.

She no longer cries.

Places where gifts lay.

Filled-up spaces,

Not just another day.
