Not Unlike Socks

Location

They come together to be paired

So many of a kind -- individuals, yet inseperable

But with Time treading upon them

You find that they start to wear

And come apart at the seams

You try to wash the age out of them

But buying more is always easier

And soon, the worst thing of all

Is that after all they've weathered

Without notice, in unceremonious departures

Some are left lonesomely dis-paired

And are discarded
