That one summer

It was a bond that I had never experienced until then and have not since then, for in that one summer we were so bound together that only death could have broken it, it was hard to part but we knew it was never meant to last, it was one of those temporary things you wish you could hold onto, who would have thought that the ones whom you had never wasted a glance would be the ones that you longed to be near,  for in that one summer we were one, a distant memory that can only be yearned for, never again will we be like we were in that one summer.
