On The Outside

She is

just like everyone else,

just like any other girl,

liking her clothes and shoes

And the silly things in life.

But then she isn’t.

She’s not like everyone else,

she’s not like anyone else

she’s different inside,

broken inside

she pushes aside

her feelings.

The feelings she can’t feel anymore

The ones that don’t try to complain anymore

The ones that are so numb that they feel dead.

Happiness can leak through,

yes it tries to make some sort of break through

But it’s only a drop,

a drop in the drowning sea of her dark gray thoughts

She feels nothing, they are dead.

She wants to feel alive.

On the outside she is the same

Why can’t her insides be too?

No one can see the through her games

Or the tricks that she plays.

On the outside she is just like everyone else,

on the outside she’s just the same.
