Dear Past Me,

You let yourself get lost in all the chaos and sadness around you each day.

You are drowning.

It never was the life you planned.

But you kept your head high.

Things will get better.

You have been abused, neglected, and broken.

Rain or shine, you kept moving on.

You weren’t wanting to die, you were waiting for your escape.

All the scars left on my body from you,

All the pain you have made me go through,

Eventually we had enough.

But not once did we end it all.

That smile you carry deserves to be seen.

The emptiness you feel is going to vanish.

The loneliness you feel,

Is going to be your greatest weapon.

Never let people get in your way.

The enemies you have made could one day be your greatest allies.

Keep holding your head high and it will all work out.

I believe in us. Now it’s your turn.

With love,

Josephine
