This Past Year

I do not know where I may be going
But I know where I have been.
All my life music has been a part of me
And I am so grateful for it.
Watching my favorite person do what he loves
Gave me hope to do the same.
This Past Year taught me that
If you love something
Work at it and it will be.
My mother could not walk.
A tendon tore in her leg.
All responsibility was pushed on my father and me.
This Past Year taught me great responsibility.
The smell of pizza and the sound of phones ringing ring through my head.
My work was long and steady,
My body took a toll, but I still was able to help pay the bills and support my family.
This Past Year taught me hard work pays off.
Death in the family is never easy,
No matter how small the life.
My long time friend may have had fur,
But she was the best friend I had.
May she find the best bone in the world.
This Past Year I have learned about perseverance, responsibility, hard work, and heartbreak.
My year in retrospect had ups and downs,
Set backs and advancements,
Happy times and sad.
My year was amazing and terrible.
My year was my year.
