The Household should not have a head

after all I am not only an arm

I am an intellectual human being

that's what all my influences say

My parents say I'm just a girl

my brain is not yet done cooking

It needs to stay in the oven for a bit longer. 

how long must I stay in the oven until my brain is burning

we are never done cooking

we are told to not make such big decisions for ourselves

unless it's politics or religion

I have my mind made up

I've had it made up for years

Ever since I was in grade school 

when I was diagnosed as autistic

and the "head" of the house told me I was retarded

I want a new head

and I want it to be my own.
