The Promise

Thu, 01/05/2017 - 00:55 -- Jerrina

Here I am today to tell you how much you shaped my life

I am here laying under the shimmering stars looking back at the time you told me you’d always be there

I looked up to you thought of you as my best friend and brother

We were the ones that people would stare at and say where are there parents at

You gained my trust

I even became close to your girlfriend

We were all friends

Told each other the most deepest secrets

And told each other the most hilarious jokes which created tears

You were one of the best people who entered my life

Then 8th grade was coming to an end

I came to meet one of my best friends

You and your girlfriend got jealous and started bullying me

Dear Sis,

I am sorry for everything that I did and said to you. You are the closest friend I have and I don’t want to lose you because I’ve already lost to many

Love Your Big Little Bro

What happened to the promise you made

How you would stick up for me no matter the consequences

The hateful words that you and your girlfriend said made me cry at night

The pain I felt knowing that my best friends for a long time would go against me

Just cuz I made a new friend

Looking back I realize that all the pain you caused me was just a way for me to grow stronger

Looking back I was a lost dog in the crowd looking for acceptance

Looking back I am glad I created memories with you because I can look at the good times where hatred and bullying were not my definition

Looking back I realize how I’ve been holding on to the pain for so long was just a waste of time
Looking back I want to thank you. Thank you for the characteristics that you and her enabled in me

For the strong and caring person you have created

For the person that I was to shy to get rid of because I had to be

So thank you for the nights I can say I am glad I have amazing friends today because if you were still in my life I could have never met the people who mean the most to me today
