Redemption

Wishes give full power,

to a human,

to an animal,

to you.

Aladdin sparkled and stroked a lamp,

A lamp that gave him three wishes.

He was nothing significant,

but a peasant.

He wished for:

a beautiful wife,

riches,

and happiness.

What he sought to be genuine,

became a fantasy.

He lived in a world with a mask,

contained him within the lamp.

His wishes came true,

but himself did not.

He was another man,

for he lost himself.

He went back to rub the lamp,

imploring for the genie for one more wish:

redemption.
