Reworn Crown's Rust

I never had a chance to warn him,

Of the path that'd lead astray,

I was vanquished before the evening sun,

And he refused to ever run away,

Once upon a time I was a powerful King,

And I soared high upon tyranny’s wing,

And soon a hero had dethroned me,

And soon the prince fell into greed,

With light feet, he followed steps of mimicry,

And he perfected the dance of my villainy,

He saw my word as one never to trust,

Even after his passion turned ever to lust,

He hoarded the gold of his people,

He rendered a future just as feeble,

He stole my daughter for a bride,

And sent his own to where the dragon hides.

It's a sad tale of woe,

To the lines of our story, duty owes,

We have places to conquer, beasts to tame,

Even with the hero and villain as one in the same,

Once upon a time,

There was an old kingdom drained of rapture and laughter,

And after all it was done,

For a twisted Prince Charming’s new happily ever after.
