Do we reside in a world of fair trial
is living here even worth our while
Or do we stay in land far away
From the time that we see the brighter day

Well a group of young men saw the better day
Only after hearing what NAACP had to say
Put on trial for something called rape
Having nothing to reside on, but the lord and faith

Were they going to make it alive
having the death sentence across their eyes
Only a few made it though
Thats how it was on the south side
