A Senior's Vacuous Time

Time is running out.

Yet you have changed so much.

Less and less weight you carry.

Less and less thoughts you have.

But can you? Can you?

Remember it all?

Remember the breaths?

The ones you felt when at ease.

Remember the aches?

The ones you felt when you were trembling at the knees.

Remember the smears?

When all was about to be done.

Remember the strains?

When towards other you all you did is shun.

You don't remember.

For all that, you try.

Now as you lay and let your thoughts die

Waiting for those memories

Like so long ago.

To come just as alive.
