Showers

rain,

whispers on my skin

fat droplets of shimmering,

glistening, liquid sunshine

it’s peaceful as can be

mist,

floats gently, calmly,

a sprinkle of champagne bubbles

dancing towards your skin

murmured promises of soft showers to come

bombs,

rain down, weeping, drowning, drenching

hammering and knocking

chaotic, the sky growls,

thunder moans and lightening rips

wind,

howls, screams,

suffocates and moans in the disarray,

pushes and pulls,

hard drops whip into my skin

sun,

trickles gentle rays,

honey coloured light seeps through clouds

trees stretch out to touch it

and warmth is restored
