The Silence was the Sound

When I was walking through the dark

and lost inside my head

I was losing that fire, that spark

my feeling almost dead

Out of the dreary night she came

the angel in her light

She took her aim and with the flame

The shot she did ignite

Well I had found a different side

a story to complete

in every life one must confide

in others what's discrete

The endless clouds that blur my sight

confused me, up and down

In the end the wrongs were right

the Silence was the Sound

For forty days and forty nights

I waited for the sun

all the power, all the might

but time only to run

A storm then blew in from the east

its thunder shut me down

the greatest had become the least

and Silence was the Sound

The city shining on a hill

its walls a strong facade

Honor, Strength, Love, Will

with Evil at its gate

Withstanding all the flames of hell

the walls did not fall down

but strong was weak and whisper, yell

the Silence was the Sound

The Armies of the Ages sound

the trumpets for the war

the bloodshot eyes of all profound

Faith and Hope were no more

When I was walking through the night

and lost inside my mind

the thought of her had made me bright

my eyes no longer blind

For her I fought and gave my life

for her I held my ground

hate was love and dark was light

the Silence was the Sound
