Sister, Sister

Fri, 02/23/2018 - 11:22 -- j.g.

back home i was julia

garrison

garrison julia

back home i played

lacrosse and stood in

lines for hot lunch

and lived in a house.

back home i was

just me

the only one

named julia

in mon county school

system

back home i was just

myself back home i

had three friends

back home i was safe

i’m not home

anymore i’m with

a group of new people

who i am to call my sisters

who i am to respect

when they scream

down the hallways

and act younger than they

are in reality

who am i to judge

i kept my head down

and obeyed all orders

back west

now here i am

sitting in the chair

long overdue for a repair

ready to leave

longing to be in my bed

but to no avail

my sisters surround me

but not the one who lives in my house
