Sleeping Angel

Shattered crystal, luxurious

disaster, we carry heavy

with our boot straps broken,

only the screech of rubber tires

stop us from lurching forward,

we picnic with our loved ones,

they haven't noticed the black

ants I've yet to flick off my thin

leg's gone limp, feather dusted

who doesn't believe their daughter's

perfect, at least for a time, I've lagged

behind in a dark ally sung to the sound

of wind chimes clanking beneath

half a rainbow, alone the world is

friendlier, before we compare and

learn why a difference could matter,

I'm in heaven now with my eyes shut,

would you awaken a sleeping angel?
